Our Objectives
Our objectives guide our mission to strengthen, represent, and advance Ethiopia’s chemical manufacturing industry. Each goal is focused on building a collaborative, innovative, and competitive sector.
Facilitate the organization and growth of Ethiopia’s chemical manufacturing sector.
Work with governmental and non-governmental institutions to protect the common interests of our members.
Study industry bottlenecks, present practical solutions to the government, and ensure effective follow-up.
Prepare and encourage national conferences, seminars, and exhibitions related to the sector.
Advise and implement strategies that enable members to jointly improve their production and marketing capabilities.
Establish connections with domestic and foreign associations to exchange valuable experience and information.
Gather, organize, and disseminate relevant industry information to benefit members.
What We Did So Far
Actively participated in the preparation of the tariff book, successfully influencing tariff rates in line with our proposal.
Advocated for the suspension of LC extension charges for nine months during the COVID-19 period, based on a convincing justification presented to the Ministry of Industry (MOI) and the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE).
Played a significant role in protecting members’ interests by contributing to various sector-related studies.
Worked on improving the customs valuation system and achieved notable progress.
Facilitated the processing of paint industry transactions through selected client banks without the limitation of proforma invoices.
Engaged in discussions with various governmental and non-governmental organizations, providing valuable suggestions and recommendations.
Served as a technical committee member (TC-55, TC-57, and TC-60) during standards preparation, revision, and amendments, protecting members’ interests.
Represented the private sector in the Ethiopia Tamirit Movement Cluster Committee, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister.
